Global Cooling’s HUMM? free-piston Stirling technology is based on the Stirling cycle which operates by cyclically expanding and compressing helium. Global Cooling’s HUMM? technology is a free-piston machine driven by a linear driver that does not use any life limiting bearings and seals. It does not use oil. All moving components are supported by non-contact gas bearings.

The coolers can be used to cool by direct contact to the cold head or by transferring the heat using a thermosiphon.  Global Cooling has a broad patent portfolio with 14 issued and 4 provisional patents.
