Founded and incorporated in 1993, Axygen Scientific is the leading global supplier of laboratory plastics for the research industry, including the pharmaceutical, biotech, and academia markets. It is headquartered in Union City, California in the San Francisco Bay Area. Axygen is expanding and is expected to move from its current 35,000 square foot facility to its brand new custom-built 100,000 square foot facility by 2005. Presently, Axygen employs over 300 people worldwide.

Product Lines and Breakthroughs

All products currently sold by Axygen are manufactured in it’s Union City manufacturing plant.
MAXYMum Recovery
In 1999, as a result of two years of research, Axygen introduced a totally unique method of changing the composition of the virgin polypropylene resins used to manufacture it’s products. The result is a group of products referred to as MAXYMum Recovery. These include pipet tips, robotic tips that compatible with popular automated liquid handling systems, PCR tubes and strips, microtubes, and high throughput screening (HTS) consumables. MAXYMum Recovery is also available for our filtered product lines: filter barrier pipet tips and filter barrier robotic tips. MAXYMum Recovery products inhibit DNA, protein, enzyme or peptide samples from sticking to their wall surface, and as a result virtually eliminate sample denaturation.
