Founded in 1989 AutoGen is dedicated to the design, manufacture and distribution of innovative solutions for nucleic acid extraction from a wide variety of source materials. All of our automated platforms are based on the single-phase organic extraction method, which was originally developed at Genetics Institute of Cambridge, Massachusetts and later commercialized by AutoGen. During the early 1990’s the technology was licensed to Kurabo Biomedical in Japan in order to directly serve the Asian markets.
The AutoGenprep line of totally automated nucleic acid extractors features high yields at the lowest cost per prep available today. Based on the “Gold Standard” organic method, AutoGen’s single-phase organic extraction chemistries can be applied to a variety of starting materials. These proprietary methods have been adapted for automation in AutoGen’s unique tube units and conventional 96 well plates. The AutoGenprep systems automate the entire process of nucleic acid extraction from start to finish, allowing for true walk away performance. Operator involvement is limited to about 10 minutes at the start of the run. There is never a need to come back to the machine for manual intervention during the process. The AutoGenpreps' robust modular design is highly reliable and insures years of trouble free operation. AutoGen takes the work out of nucleic acid preps, allowing the lab personnel to spend valuable laboratory time on their most important applications.
