Ani Biotech was founded in 1986 by academicians and entrepreneurs. The company is still privately owned and the founders remain as the main shareholders. The company belongs to a group of companies which are all active in health care sector. The production and marketing facilities of Ani Biotech are located near Helsinki-Vantaa Airport.

Ani Biotech develops and manufactures rapid immunodiagnostic tests by utilizing 3 different techniques: dry-dot agglutination, one-step and two-step techniques. Technological orientation is a key word in Ani Biotech.

The main application areas are fertility hormones, bacterial and viral antigens and antibodies based rapid diagnostic tests. The latest products include a patented celiac disease test, myeloperoxydase and high sensitive CRP quantitative tests for cardiac infarct prediction and novel Parvo B19 test, all utilizing whole blood finger tip samples.

Ani Biotech products are marketed and distributed by specialized diagnostic and pharmaceutical companies worldwide. The largest customers are based in Europe and Asia. The tests are CE marked and several tests are also FDA approved.

The company has recently acquired all the business and production operations of another Finnish diagnostic manufacturer Orgenium Laboratories. Since the acquisition in June 2008, Orgenium Laboratories has become the ELISA division of Ani Biotech.

Ani Biotech Orgenium Laboratories ELISA Division produces Infectious Disease ELISA Kits for following parameters: TORCH, Respiratory Tract, Enteroviruses, GI Infections and Pediatric Diseases. In addition, the ELISA division produces Research ELISA products for quantitative detection of various cytokines, Leptin, Adiponectin and VEGF.
