We develop and produce high-quality specialty products made of glass and plastic, primarily for the pharma & life science industry. In addition to specific primary containers for a wide variety of substances and medicines, our product and service portfolio comprises complex drug delivery systems. We are one of the few companies in our sector to specialise equally in both of the major primary-material categories of importance in this demanding market, i.e. glass and plastic. We also look after our customers very intensively on the service side.

Through strong organic growth and targeted acquisitions particularly in the pharma segment, we have further expanded our market position over recent years. In almost all of our fields of business we rank today among the global market leaders. In all areas and particularly in the sector of pharma and life sciences, our long-standing customers include very well-known, internationally leading companies.

Geographical proximity to its customers and their most important markets is a key criterion for us. We are represented in Europe, America and Asia by 41 production plants employing a total of 10,800 people.

The origins of our Group go back to the glass factory founded by Ferdinand Heye in 1864 in the Gerresheim suburb of Düsseldorf. Only over the last two decades did we develop into the highly-specialised supplier, primarily to the pharma & life science industry, which we are today – with the help of targeted acquisitions and intensive development and refinement of know-how and technologies.

Products and services
We offer our customers a widely diversified range of high-quality glass and plastic products. With an extensive product and materials portfolio, we enjoy a reputation as a complete supplier in this highly specialised market for pharma and life sciences. Our product range comprises medicine vials, ampoules and special bottles as well as complex drug-delivery systems such as prefillable syringes, inhalers and other system solutions for safe dosage and application of medicines. In parallel, we supply numerous product and system approaches in the field of diagnostics and medical technology, including for example finger-prick aids and lancets for diabetes monitoring and components for various analysis systems. There is also a wide spectrum of special products for use in scientific and analytical laboratories.

We see our special strength in customised development and production, including full-service project business. With our combined competence in both glass and plastic from a single source we are able to develop and realise complete system approaches across the boundaries of these two materials to meet our customers’ requirements to the letter.

As a general rule, our special pharmaceutical products are an integral component of the drug registration process. We meet the regulatory standards imposed by the relevant supervision authorities and collaborate closely with our customers on registration.
