Mediphos Group bv based in Renkum The Netherlands is an independent privately owned holding company to facilitate the activities of two subsidiaries. Mediphos Medical Supplies bv is a dynamic and flexible company, specialised in importing, marketing and distributing in-vitro diagnostics such as kits, reagents, rapid tests and smaller instruments for the clinical laboratories. It is the aim to provide high quality products from a selective range of suppliers combined with a high degree of service and knowledge at a reasonable price. This company was established in 2000 after a Management Buy Out from the former company Imphos B.V. based in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. Since 2003 a new division was established to concentrate on point of care testing. In particular in the cardiovascular field we are able to deliver professional tests that give a reliable result in a few minutes. These tests are very suitable for doctors-offices or at any location where healthcare providers need a quantitative result.Mediphos Animal Health bv was established per 1st June 2007. The majority shareholder is Mediphos Group bv and the remainder is held by Safe-Holding bv Drachten. This company is specialized in import, marketing and distribution of diagnostics and herbal medicinal products exclusively for the veterinarian.

Mediphos is ISO certifiied since the end of the 90's according to the latest standard ISO 9001:2008.

Objectives and company policy

Mediphos Medical Supplies BV will continuously invest in the growth in order to be a strong marketing based diagnostics distributor for a selective range of quality suppliers. Although an exact number of distributorships is not specified, it is definitely not intended to become a so-called “catalogue-handler”. Co-operation can be based on purely sales and distribution or marketing-included. Each kind of co-operation can per supplier, be specified and if necessary tailor-made. Since many years the business is strongly based in the field of both clinical chemistry and microbiological laboratories. Immunochemistry and microbiology are regarded as the core business.

Marketing efforts have been initiated and will be maintained to increase the company awareness by advertisements, exhibitions and mailings. Beneficial cooperations exists with pharmaceutical companies regarding medical issues and the promotion of new specific diagnostics tools to medical doctors. Research and development is performed in co-operation with manufacturers and a range of national hospital laboratories.

Major efforts are targeted towards the development of the point of care business. We hold a substantial marketshare in the cardiovasculair field due to the superiority of the LDX analyser because of its user friendliness and its accurate diagnostic results for lipid profile and glucose. It is our aim to extend this position by launching new instruments and tests for the healthcare professionals that require an accurate and fast result on the spot.

At the end of 1997 the ISO 9002 certificate was acquired for importing, marketing and distributing diagnostic reagents, kits and specialty analysers in order to ensure high level service and quality to our customers. In the new structure the ISO certificate was granted and renewed by TNO. In 2004 our certificate is changed into the new standard norm ISO 9001:2000 and since then every year renewed.

Organisation

Mediphos has established a structural integrated way to facilitate optimal key business function. All marketing and sales activities are carried out by dedicated staff. Customer contacts with hospital, commercial and GP laboratories are established by two Account Managers, both responsible for one area. Sales and services for Point of care products such as rapid tests and doctors offices’ small in-vitro diagnostic instruments are the responsibility of the extra-mural Project Manager. Specialist knowledge is exchanged on a national level. Technical product support, marketresearch and product developent in cooperation with the suppliers is granted in a strong cooperation with manufacturers. All marketing and sales functions are carried out under the responsibility of the General Manager.The daily operations are handled by the Office Manager. For our (potential) customers this is the central area for all customer inquiries such as information on prices, quantities, orders, deliveries, contracts, stocks etc. For detailed product information inquiries they co-ordinate responses by others. This includes administration, Human Resources and support for Management and Account Management. Distribution and warehousing are performed according to directives and ISO requirements for RIA’s, refrigerated and room temperature products in our own premises. The company is well equipped in many areas. With respect to computerisation it is noticeable that the sales-force operates with a computer reporting system including all visit reports, customer data and planning procedures. Furthermore all commercial offers are based on a computersystem which is operated by the Account-managers too, to facilitate immediate preliminary insight at the customers desk. Mail and data access functions are integrated to facilitate reporting and correspondence from the home address.
