NeuroTherm was formed in September 2005, as a concurrent acquisition of RDG Medical in the U.K., and RF Medical and Precision Medical Engineering (PME) in the U.S. by Cortec Group Fund III, L.P., an affiliate of Cortec Group, Inc. This merger brought together the worldwide known NeuroTherm brand name for generators with the U.S. leading disposables product line from PME.

RDG Medical had formed to sell pain managements products to the United Kingdom and European markets. They began designing the first NeuroTherm RF generator in 1991, and introduced it to the European market in 1994. In the same year, PME began offering a wide variety of RF disposables at a greater value to pain-management facilities and physicians in the U.S. PME and RDG quickly recognized a mutual need for expanding their product lines and markets; thus the RF Medical Company was formed in 2001 to distribute NeuroTherm brand generators in the United States. By 2003, the companies had collaborated to develop the most popular RF Generator sold worldwide: the NT-25.

As the three organizations saw the need for integrating their capabilities, they continued to research and design new products together. In 2005 the NT1000, RF Generator was submitted for FDA approval; thus introducing the first multi-lesion generator on the market. The next generation NT1100 quickly followed in 2007. In that same year NeuroTherm acquired Cotop International, a leading European distributor of RF disposable products.

NeuroTherm continues to lead the market by developing new and advanced technologies for RF generators and disposable products; and is focused on making them available to pain doctors around the globe at a superb value.
