The transaction, which represented the largest acquisition in the history of Topcon Corp.’s medical device business, provided Topcon Corp. with a rich therapeutic product portfolio and a pipeline of retina innovation, while delivering to OptiMedica significant funding for its breakthrough laser cataract surgery effort.
