At Supercritical Fluid Technologies, we develop innovative solutions for your demanding extraction and material processing needs. Since our inception in 1994, Supercritical Fluid Technologies, Inc. (SFT) has worked to advance research in supercritical fluid extraction and reaction chemistry. SFT’s core expertise center around the design and construction of equipment for supercritical fluid extraction (SFE), supercritical fluid reaction chemistry (SFR), and related, high pressure applications.

SFT’s first supercritical fluid extractor was sold in early 1995. By 1997, the company had two products for supercritical fluid extraction and reaction, the SFT-150 and the SFT-250. In 1998, the first generation SFT Phase Monitor was introduced. This innovative view cell permitted direct observation of material solubility in SF CO2. SFT’s first supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) system was constructed in 2001 and was used for the treatment of industrial effluent. In 2003, the second generation Phase Monitor was introduced, and both the SFT-150 and SFT-250 were updated and improved with all digital readouts and integrated fluid preheaters.

In 2004, SFT began development of a new, low cost SFE system with the goal of making the technology more affordable to a greater number of laboratories. By spring of 2005, this new product, the SFT-100 SFE, was introduced at the Pittsburgh Conference. Later that year, the HPR Series of high pressure chemical reactors was introduced. Following in SFT’s tradition of providing flexibility and versatility, each of these pressure reactors is built to the individual customer’s specification.

In addition to a wide product offering, Supercritical Fluid Technologies offers various laboratory services, including application feasibility studies and contract research. Part and accessories for all SFT equipment are stocked at the Newark, Delaware facility and at key distribution points around the world. SFT maintains a network of representatives and distributors around the world. Our service and support network is always available and always responsive to our customers.
